The oldest technique in branding?

Embroidery is defined as:

“To stitch a decorative design on fabric with needle and thread of various colors; To add imaginary detail to a narrative to make it more interesting or acceptable.” ref

As an option for promotional garments, and uniforms, it provides a long lasting, professional way to place your brand onto garments.

Why use embroidery?

Firstly it is a branding option with a low setup cost, and well positioned cost for lower quantities, that decreases steadily as you increase the number of garments to be branded.

Secondly, is the finish. Embroidery has been around since man started decorating the clothing they wore, but the modern embroidery using machinery came about in the 1870’s. Since its inception embroidery has been used to increase the value of the material it is used to decorate, and also to distinguish between rank and status.

This starts to form an image of why people are so drawn to embroidery, and why it has such a high perceived value. These perceptions about the technique are an added lift to the brand being embroidered onto a garment.

There are limitations in using embroidery on clothing, I was going to write them all out but found this American website which really does a great job of defining the limitations. LINK

There are several types of embroidery available through R U Marketing Ltd. You can view or download a PDF with the options here.
